We’re proud to present an album by a good friend and very talented Canadian musician named Tona Ohama. Minimal Wave presents a full length album by cult French band In Aeternam Vale. Having made over 200 recordings, I.A.V. were one of the most prolific bands of the French underground scene. Headed by Laurent Prot, the band released many cassettes all featuring his wonderful collage work. Their sound is extremely original, overflowing with character, and crossing between genres: electro, minimal, noise, and even garage. “With the passing of time, In Aeternam Vale’s work remains astonishingly power…
In the landscape of early electronic music, few projects operated with the conceptual rigor and interdisciplinary ambition of Monoton. Founded in 1979 by hypermedia pioneer Konrad Becker, this Vienna-based collective emerged not as a band in any conventional sense but as an ongoing investigation into what they termed "bionic psycho-active automat music"—compositions derived from mathematical structures and natural constants rather than traditional melodic intuition.
Eight Lost Tracks documents M…

Minimal Wave proudly presents a newly remastered vinyl edition of the cult Swedish cassette compilation Orgelvark, subtitled En Stadig Samling Svensk Syntmusik -- 'a solid collection of Swedish synth music.' Orgelvark is a compilation of Swedish synthpop, experimental and industrial music representative of the underground tape scene that thrived there in the 1980s. Many of the bands didn't quite fit into one particular genre, and most remained unknown. They lived in small villages and were makin…
Twilight Ritual was/is the main project by Geert Coppens and Peter Bonne. During the early eighties they were involved in many other bands including Autumn and The Linear Movement (both recently re-released on Minimal Wave), but Twilight Ritual is by far the most inspired project. The spirit of the band lingers on beneath the work of Autumn through A Split Second. The work of Twilight Ritual is diverse, yet consise. Their pioneering album Rituals inspired other musicians and became an undergroun…

Pulse Emitter joins the Aguirre catalogue with a stunning new album full of clear cosmic tones for the new space age. Aeons, as the title suggests, is about different periods in time—a sonic journey that spans from ancient earth to distant futures where consciousness transcends physical form. "One work, an hour long, consisting of "electro-acoustic music with organ sounds". Had only the latter been indicated, I wouldn't have raised an eyebrow as almost all of what one hears sounds as though it could have been generated by adapted organ pipes. The passages, full but soft, embedded in a quieter hiss, are airy and breathy with a tracery of organ-tone within, the kind of sound I imagine could be conjured up by allowing more air to escape a pipe than normal. What other sou…
Lucky restock, very last copies! *300 copies limited release* Seventh in a on-going series of twelve electronic meditations on the zodiac of Decimus Magnus Ausonius (310-395) as played by Pat Murano of No Neck Blues Band, K Salvatore, Malkuth and Key of Shame. This one is for sure the creepiest and most disturbing chapter of the series so far, with swathes of electronics melting with the highest tones of misterious lullabies from somewhere far away, keeping the listeners ear firmly at ground leve…

Rutger and Stephen sort of accidentally met through e-mail. A simple note regarding an ordering question for a CD led to an enthusiastic e-mail conversation and climaxed in a musical collaboration. This all happened in a very short period, both musicians being very inspired by the concept of “exchange,” as a means to cross space and time -- Rutger living in the Netherlands and Stephen in Virginia.
Most of the time, when (electronic) musicians work together it’s a matter of swapping digital files…

'The first collaboration by these two renowned sound artists. Fabrication saw its beginning during the production of Re-Post-Refabricated, a project in which artists were selected by Richard Chartier to rework-create new works from his 1998 CD Postfabricated for its reissue in 2003. As it was intended as an open project, Asmus Tietchens continued to explore the source materials and suggested further formal collaboration. This evolved into the collaborative work Fabrication. The CD comes in a ful…
