Alasdair Roberts
Alasdair Roberts is a Scottish guitarist and singer based in Glasgow who has worked with Drag City since 1997, first as Appendix Out and then under his own name. His music runs in two parallel strands that constantly feed each other: self-written songs of a strange, questing lyricism, and interpretations of the traditional ballads of Scotland and beyond, sung in a plain, unadorned voice over intricate fingerstyle guitar. Records such as The Crook of My Arm, No Earthly Man and Spoils placed him at the heart of the new folk revival without ever softening into revivalism.
