Angharad Davies

Country: United Kingdom

Angharad Davies is a Welsh violinist and composer from Aberystwyth who works across free improvisation and contemporary composed music. She grew up in a musical family, playing in local brass bands with her father and her brother, the harpist Rhodri Davies. Her playing is built on close listening and on sounds found beyond the usual range of the violin. Éliane Radigue wrote the solo violin piece OCCAM XXI for her. Angharad Davies studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and later with Charles-Andre Linale in Düsseldorf and Howard Davis in London.
