Charlotte Hug
Charlotte Hug is a Swiss violist, singer, composer and visual artist working in improvisation and contemporary composition. She combines viola with high falsetto, glottal sounds and multiphonics, often performing solo in natural sites such as the Rhone Glacier, where she has played regularly. Her Son-Icons, drawings that work as both visual art and musical notation, are at the centre of her work. Charlotte Hug was a long-standing member of the London Improvisers Orchestra and has recorded with Elliott Sharp, Maggie Nicols, Caroline Kraabel and the London Stellari String Quartet.
