Claire Rousay
Claire Rousay is a Canadian-American experimental musician and composer, born in Winnipeg and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She started out as a solo percussionist, then turned to musique concrète built from recordings of everyday life (voicemails, conversations, ambient sound), often combined with strings, piano and processed instruments. She later moved to Los Angeles. Her early records came out on Astral Spirits, Longform Editions and American Dreams, which issued A Softer Focus (2021), made with visual artist Dani Toral.
