Die Tödliche Doris

Die Tödliche Doris (Deadly Doris; a pun on tödliche Dosis, meaning lethal dose) was a performance art and music group based in West Berlin from 1980 to 1987. It was founded by band members Wolfgang Müller and Nikolaus Utermöhlen  and later joined by Käthe Kruse.
Rather than constructing a consistent identity, typically essential for pop music groups, Die Tödliche Doris challenged the notion of "convention" or "stereotype". Instead, they tried with each music piece and production not to follow a "style" or "image". Inspired by the post-structuralism of Baudrillard, Foucault, Guattarri and Lyotard, Die Tödliche Doris want to deConstruct ![sic] a sculpture, made by sounds. This musical, amusical or non-musical invisible sculpture should become the body of Doris itself.

**restocked, very last copies copies*Mindblowing!! Truly an amazing edition, and finally the mythical 'invisible' LP is here! The music tracks on the two records "Unser Debut"-LP (1984) and "Sechs"-LP (1986) were composed in such a way that by playing them simultaneously on two record players a new unity came about. The invisible LP is literally invisible, immaterial and only heard when the two records  Text, music and rhythm of the tracks of both records complemented, doubled and shifted one an…
Gehorlose Musik
During the years 1980-87, German trio Die Tödliche Doris was absolutely legendary in the Berlin underground music and art scene. Embodying the pure, obscure spirit of "neue deutsche welle," their releases and live shows revealed a raw post-punk sensibility with performance art. Die Todliche Doris are still widely considered one of the most radical, intelligent and influential German avantgarde bands of the last two decades. Now this DVD brings the music of the legendary, long unavailable LP Gehö…
