Francesco Messina

Country: Italy

Francesco Messina is an Italian musician, graphic designer and photographer, born in 1951, Sicilian by origin and long based in Milan. He plays keyboards, writes music and lyrics, and has designed many record covers. He is known for Prati bagnati del monte Analogo (1979), the electronic album he made with Raul Lovisoni, and for his solo record Medio Occidente (1983). Prati bagnati del monte Analogo came out on Cramps with Franco Battiato as producer, and takes its idea from René Daumal's unfinished novel Le Mont Analogue.

Le Api dell’Invisibile
Four decades after Prati Bagnati del Monte Analogo, Francesco Messina returns to his hundred-year-old Schimmel piano for seven pieces of hazy drone and ambient minimalism, written with no deadlines after playing that 1979 album live in Milan.
