Helena Espvall

Helena Espvall is a Swedish cellist, guitarist and singer from the north of Sweden, now based in Lisbon. She played in the Philadelphia psych-folk group Espers, which she joined shortly after their first album, and has built a long run of improvised and folk-based collaborations around her cello. Espvall played earlier with the Arabic music ensemble Sumer and in a silent-film orchestra, and later with The Valerie Project and Anahita, a duo with Tara Burke (Fursaxa). Her solo album Nimis & Arx appeared in 2006.
