J.O. Mallander

Jan Olof Mallander (b. 1944) has been a living legend in the Finnish art world since the 1960s. A central figure introducing international avant-garde, Fluxus, and underground art to Finland, he co-founded the artist group Elonkorjaajat and gallery Cheap Thrills in Helsinki. His early minimalist and conceptual works brought interdisciplinary happenings to Finnish art.
