Signs and Accuracy
Big Tip! *Limited to 70 hand-numbered copies.* "Signs and Accuracy" is the first collaborative work between Jon Wesseltoft and Niklas Adam and the austere title sets the mood from the start. The composition process as well as the interaction between the two artists, constitutes something new for both of them. The signs possess accuracy; they are a unified whole, materialized and executed within a singular and unexplored surrounding space. "Signs and Accuracy", out now on Coherent States, is musi…
Kalpa

Their music often almost seemingly static and gradually building it’s intensity over long streches of time. This is music that demands concentration, and hypnotically drill into the awareness of the listener. At times abrasive andintense, but also beautiful and calmly introspective. Last year they released the culminat…
Naga Mountain
** Edition of 200 copies.** Lasse Marhaug and Jon Wesseltoft have collaborated in a variety of projects over the years, but started the Tongues of Mount Meru duo back in 2008 as a collaboration to pursue their shared interest in sustained and closely calibrated sounds, and the phenomenological impact they have on the act of listening. They started recording a session each year from 2008 to 2011 in Oslo utilising harmoniums, organs, shruti boxes, oscillators, and computers and accumulated a large…
Oslo 20.02.2020 (LP)
Argentinian maverick improviser Anla Courtis (Reynols) teaming up with Norwegian multidiciplinary vikings Lasse Marhaug and Jon Wesseltoft. All experienced players and collaborators in various constellations, but never before as a trio. When Courtis passed by Oslo in February 2020 and did these recordings, little did they all know that just weeks later the whole world would shut down and there would be a long delay until next time they would meet up under any circumstations. Courtis barely made …

Terreng
Terreng a constitution of an open-ended landscape of contrasts defining space both in time and depth. a set of structuring elements forming by its positionally interaction a common platform created through its dimensional properties. The drums and electronics on Terreng trade off each other at times creating a sense of improvised space, but also comes together in parts to form a narrative structure of almost concrete sensibilities. Where the instrumental identities gradually bleed into each othe…

Celadon
A work of slowly evolving beauty that gradually unravels its meditative design. Recorded in 2013 in the mausoleum of Norwegian sculptor and painter Emanuel Vigeland (1875-1948) in Oslo, a recording space that is famous for its acoustics and its long and full-sounding reverb. These three tracks utilize both the delicacy and the power of acoustic instruments and human voice in relation to the unique recording space. Otherworldly and eerie but also with a great primal expressive force. Perfo…
Det Kritiske Punkt
Edition of 150 copies only "Spine-tingling free improv fire-blast from an international quartet with deep underground roots. Italian reeds player Genta and drummer Vanzan form the basis for all Jooklo aktion (Duo, Golden, Stellar, et al.). Norwegian reeds dude Stiberg and guitar/electronics manager Jon Wesseltoft also collaborate in Maranata. Together in Olso in 2012, the quartet laid down this very hard-blown and stylish session. There are let-ups in the attack, but there aren't many. Broken…
Cold/Burn
Superstar live drone fiesta time here. Recorded in Oslo, during an Aurora Borealic night of January, 2010, this beauty thrums with a majesty-vibe arising deep from within the earth. Each of the participants has been horn-blown around the globe for mastery of individual string/machine attack. C. Spencer Yeh's violin arcs have powered a million strange improv scenes. Jon Wesseltoft is clearly the king of Norwegian harmonium dudes. Okkyung Lee is a Korean polymath re: formal cello innovations, …
Piper
*200 copies limited release* Another stringed drone ritual here - but less choral than the quartet session - where the cello and the harmonium (or the accordion organ) are endlessly chasing each other aiming to the perfect sinergy around the same tune, resulting in a deep and intense meditation practice. Exquisitely mixed and mastered by Jon Wesseltoft in Oslo, 2013. A single nineteen minute track captured live in Oslo, 2010 in the same period of the astonishing Cold Burn LP (Feeding Tube Record…

Northern Resonance I
In the winter of 2008 C. Spencer Yeh (Burning Star Core) and Jon Wesseltoft (Tongues of Mount Meru, Maranata) would meet in Wesseltoft's native Norway to record the tracks, which comprise this tape. With Yeh on violin and Wesseltoft on harmonium the duo blazes through the northern sky unleashing a meditative eulogy to the Nordic gods of past, present and future.  The reeds maintain the momentum while the strings wail in unison.  Fans of Tony Conrad and Henry Flynt take note.  Artwork by L…
Northern Resonance III-II5
Yeh and Wesseltoft met in Oslo, Norway, in the cold winter of 2008. Within the combination between the highly dynamic peaks of Spencer'€™s violin and the warm, eternal continuum produced by Jon'€™s harmonium, they found the key to deliver a flux of epic, organic drones that sound like nothing they have recorded before. Two years later (february 2010), they did it again, same room, same set-up, same magic. The best takes from those sessions are on the two sides of this Lp. This…
