Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart is a vocal ensemble for contemporary music, founded in 1984 by the conductor Manfred Schreier under the Stuttgart series Musik der Jahrhunderte. It began with twelve singers, in the tradition of Clytus Gottwald's Schola Cantorum. Since 2000 it has worked as a chamber ensemble of seven singers without a conductor, with Christine Fischer as artistic director. The group has given first performances of works by Stockhausen, Sciarrino, Furrer, Rihm and Ferneyhough. It received the Schneider-Schott Music Prize in 2004 and the German Record Critics' Award in 2014. Its Mode release is Tempi Agitati.
