Troum
Troum is a German duo from Bremen formed in 1997 by Stefan Knappe (Baraka[H]) and Martin Gitschel (Glit[S]ch), who had both played in Maeror Tri. The name is an archaic German word for dream. Their music is slow, dense drone built mainly from guitars, accordion and voices processed into dark ambient textures. The early albums Ryna (1998) and Sen (Mort Aux Vaches, 2000) were followed by the Tjukurrpa trilogy (Harmonies and Drones in 2001, Rhythms and Pulsations in 2003), issued on Knappe's Transgredient label and played on guitar, bass, accordion and voices without computers or samplers.
