Walter Strerath
Walter Strerath was a German jazz pianist who led his own trio in the 1960s and 1970s. He made two albums under his own name, both later reissued. Strerath recorded Trio, Quartet, Quintet in 1969, a session that widened his working trio with extra players. His second album, Fly To Brazil, followed in 1975 with Dieter Petereit and Peter A. Schmidt in the trio. Live tracks by his groups also appear on compilations, among them the LP of the 1968 Internationales Amateur-Jazz-Festival Zürich and Remembering Sixty-Nine, a record of a year of jazz in Altena and Iserlohn.
