2007 release ** "Vinc Project is primarily the work of Vincent Zermatten (Vinc for short) of Switzerland. His regular job is guitarist in the band Ever Since, who apparently are one of the three million metal bands in Europe. But My Story has very little to do with metal. Vinc plays just about everything here: keys, acoustic & electric guitars, bass, drums and vocals, and is assisted by a violinist, a cellist, and two singers. The music is melancholy, full-sounding symphonic rock that sounds ver…
Organum Electronics ‘Noughwhere’ is the third OE album for Die Stadt, and could almost be seen as a culmination of all previous OE albums in terms of denseness and intensity. Like with all these works it’s a return to the electronic sounds David Jackman already created at the very beginning of his Organum project about 40 years ago. Similar sets of particular sound sources, arranged in a variety of permutations and combinations, and a variety of structures, to create a range of variations. They …
Organum Electronics ‘Quietude’ is another intense aural experience. A dense work, consisting of buzzing washes of electronic sounds, reminiscent of the very first Organum recordings. In common with other recent works, the piece uses a carefully chosen set of sound sources, overlaid and structured to form a tapestry of shifting textures. Recorded in 2021 and edited by Alan Jones at RMS Studios South London, the CD comes in a 4-panel Digisleeve with graphic artwork by Jonathan Coleclough. UK-based…
Organum Electronics ‘Darcknes’ is the sibling album of ‘Quietude’ (DS128). It is a similarly dense work, consisting of buzzing washes of electronic sounds, reminiscent of the very first Organum recordings. In common with other recent works, the piece uses a carefully chosen set of sound sources, overlaid and structured to form a tapestry of shifting textures. Recorded in 2021 and edited by Alan Jones at RMS Studios South London, the CD comes in a 4-panel Digisleeve with graphic artwork by Jonath…
2010 release ** "Green Desert contains the latest electronic soundscapes from composer, live electronic performer and guitarist Huib Emmer. This is not a dry sandy desert, but an urban Desert of barren desolate cities that have almost been deserted by the people who lived there. They are cities of the past and present, where streets are shattered, cinemas empty and hotels are abandoned. All eleven pieces on the CD form a kind of storybook on this theme. They are musical stories expressed in term…
‘A Cloud Of Light’ is the fourth album in the David Jackman / Organum Electronics release series on Die Stadt, and the first under his own name. The work sees him returning to calmer fields of sound which could already be heard on the acclaimed D. Jackman ‘Herbstsonne’ (DS119) from 2019, and the following Jackman ‘Silence In That Time’ (DS123) from 2020. Again the sounds of Tampura, Organ, Piano, Bells and Crows are the chosen sound sources, overlaid and structured to form a tapestry of shifting…
2005 release ** "Duo Nueva Finlandia is pianist Eero Ojanen and bassist Teppo Hauta-aho, who have both represented the top of Finnish modern Jazz since the early 1960s. After often playing together during the 1960's and 1970s, they went their separate ways for many years, but started again playing together first as Trio Nueva Finlandia (with saxophonist Seppo Paakkunainen being the third member) and more recently as a duo. Short Stories is the result of an impromptu session from June 1998. It is…
2006 release ** "Unlike many tribute projects that fall flat due to those involved being either overawed or ignorant of the original material, Silver Monk Time succeeds because the participants have taken the group´s primitive rock surge as a template to experiment with. As a result the sound of The Monks is treated to a 21st century workout with synthesizers and beat tracks threaded through the original quartet´s already way out psychotic minimalism". Featuring: fsk, the fall, faust, fehlfarben…
2007 release ** "The compilation of exclusive tracks by russian artists, intended for the presentation on “Bruit de la neige” 2007 festival by Studio Forum (Annecy, France). Some of them are good known in Russia and worldwide, some are just the newcomers, but all are showing the great potential of russian experimental music scene in the fields of electroacoustic, abstract electronic music, drone ambient and noise collages." Featuring: Kolpakopf, Bardoseneticcube, Exit In Grey, Cisfinitum, Instan…
**Limited edition of 500 copies on heavy clear vinyl in clear plastic cover** Based around digital lock grooves this work by Digital Terrestrial is also observed by composers like Steve Reich (Minimalist/Systems music) and will eventually be performed by a String Quartet. It could be thought of more as a piece of conceptual art rather than just a piece of music. This vinyl only release could well be described as 'a lock groove record without the lock grooves...'. Playing time over 38 minutes.

Torch Songs is a collaboration between Jonathan Coleclough and Andrew Liles. They met in October 2004 when they both performed at Intergration 3 in Preston, UK. Liles subsequently reworked the recording of Coleclough's solo performance from that evening. He went on to add, subtract, multiply and divide further live recordings supplied by Coleclough, and the eventual result was this double LP. Torch Songs is packaged in a gatefold sleeve featuring 'I Dreamt I Was a River,' a poem composed and pai…
A new album by Michael Prime who is another prolific sound composer for many years. Being an active member of Morphogenesis he also collaborated with among others: David Jackman/Organum, Jim O'Rourke, Eddie Prevost, David Toop, Adam Bohman. He's also one half of Negative Entropy a collaborational project with G. Feyton (Noise Makers Five). Recorded between December 1998 and December 2000 Requiem is one of his most intense works so far and quite different from his more inviromental studies. Dedic…
**Edition of 400** Edge Of Nothing was first released in a cassette edition of 5 (!) copies on David Jackman’s Aeroplane imprint, and then included on the legendary “The Elephant Table Album” DLP in 1983 (feat. Coil, Nurse With Wound, SPK, Lustmord etc). Both tracks presented here are the January 2003 mixes of the original material, which was derived from variously stimulating a cymbal with bows, knuckles, loops etc. An extremely dense piece of experimental noise where (allegedly) the B side is …
**Edition of 400 copies** Two tracks from early cassette releases. Side A is an alternative version of "Terrain" by Jackman and Sanderson, originally released on the "0 Degrees North" cassette (Aeroplane 1982). With Jackman overdubbing low guttural growls on a steel strung cello and Sanderson programming coffee-percolation on a drum machine, "Terrain" is a lo-fi production that finds its companions in the work of Throbbing Gristle, Hunting Lodge, and the Broken Flag camp of noise. Side B is a so…
**Edition of 400** 'Flak' is an excellent 10" release offering two diverse pieces. Side A is a heavy, densely layered drone piece comprised of harsh, grating sounds all over the sound field, but sliding from start to finish with remarkable constancy. It's a truly beautiful noise, rather like some of David Jackman's earlier work as Organum. Side B is a field recording, untreated, unfiltered, recorded outdoors, with a great hiss that is very much present in the mix. This second track seems to comm…
**This special picture LP is limited to 444 numbered copies** An awesome album by John Watermann, the idea for this project came about after a visit to Calcutta in 1990, and through the nightmarish experiences during that short visit. The concept of aurally conveying the horror of a gas chamber was realised through field recordings in an abandoned electrical power station in Brisbane in 1992. The sounds are grating and harsh, a mixture of field recordings and electronic manipulations.

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the very first Zev studio album which originally came out on Backlash in 1981, Die Stadt is proud to announce the re-release of Production and Decay of Spacial Relations for the first time on CD. It features the original seven tracks from the vinyl plus six recodings entitled Reproduction and Decay of Spatial Relations made by Zev in May/June 2005. Back in the day, Zev used to bring boxes over from Holland when he would come back to New York City which he woul…
Since its foundation, Indianapolis-based Healing Sound Propagandist has quietly built a catalog of nearly a hundred releases by a cadre of emerging and established artists, specializing in undiluted doses of textured drone and experimental ambient. To commemorate this prolific run, Retrospective [2019-2024] collects 76 standout tracks over five hours, from the warm tonal blankets of James Bernard (“Never Alone”), to the wispy, boreal loops of UK’s Pallette (“Für What”) and the womb-like warble o…
*2025 repress!!* Essential Italian funk library, a must have for any digger ! Here’s the 1977 collaboration between master composers Remigio Ducros and Luciano Simoncini (Arawak, Jason Black, etc.), a groovy record with killer drum-breaks , dreamy flute harmonies, blazing horns and heavy Fender Rhodes line.
LP version. Wewantsounds continues their Ryuichi Sakamoto reissue series with the release of the 1985 album Esperanto, composed for a performance by New York avant-garde choreographer Molissa Fenley. Produced and performed by Sakamoto with contribution by Arto Lindsay and Japanese percussionist Yas-Kaz, Esperanto is a fascinating instrumental work mixing electronica, ambient and synth pop. Released in Japan in 1985 on Midi Inc.s' School label, the album has never been released outside of Japan u…
