ktl 2
This is the second full-length release by KTL, the formidable collaboration between Stephen O'Malley (SunnO))), Khanate, etc.) and Peter Rehberg (Pita, etc.). Devastatingly beautiful four-part follow up to the highly acclaimed debut CD, recorded in a former abattoir in Angers, as well as a 16th century manor in the extreme west of France. Taking the blueprint that was laid out on the first record even further, with the ecstatic build up of "Theme," the near-psychedelic "Abattoir," and closing wi…
Ktl
KTL is a collaboration between Stephen O'Malley (SunnO))), Khanate, etc.) and Peter Rehberg (Pita, etc.). This is a six-part collision amongst the increasingly fading presences between the light and the dark, with some pieces recorded in a resistance fortress in southern France during a thunderstorm -- while others were recorded in a winter garden drenched in sunlight. The collaboration came about as the two were working on a theatre production by Gisèle Vienne and Dennis Cooper, entitled Kinder…
Mamono
Collaborative studio album from Keji Haino of the legendary FUSHITSUSHA & KK Null the man behind ZENI GEVA. Limited to 1000 copies beautifuly printed with vegetable based inks using both traditional letterpress & offset printing methods on custom black folders.
Ergosphere
Ergosphere was recorded live during Kazuyuki Kishino's (Zeni Geva, etc.) tour of Russia in late 2005, specifically on his only two solo dates, live at Moscow Palace of Youth in Moscow Russia October 5, 2005 and 'Festival Hea Uus Heli' Kanuti Gildi Saal in Tallinn Estonia on October 7, 2005. An uneasy balance of lull and divide.
Prime radiant
'Prime Radiant' is noise as a spray of blood-red roses, a vast wash of colour concealing six inch thorns. Kazuyuki Kishino has been at the forefront of the Japanese noise scene for over 20 years, both as guitarist/leader of extremist sludge rockers Zeni Geva and as a solo artist exploring the outer territories of electronica. Along with Masonna and Merzbow, he is part of a trinity of noisemakers whose work seems to operate at the very limits of human endurance. Like theirs, Null's work transcend…
Sporadic spectra
"Yep, this is Series III all right. It’s the work of Yasutoshi Yoshida (his address is on the CD if you feel like sending him the address of a good Ear Nose and Throat specialist), and apart from a few seconds of light relief at the beginning of Cryptic Cave, it’s a non-stop 57 minute barrage of EXTREMELY LOUD noise. Even at normal listening volume (though exactly how you’d define that is up to you, I guess), Pale Eyed Lemming sounds like a jackhammer trying in vain to punch its way through a te…
D!O!D!O!D!
Fantastic album of pure guitar and drums brutality (and the first non-Japanese release for PSF in several years) from the greatest noise musician in China, Li Jianhong. Long resident in Hangzhou, Li has released several records on his own 2pi label, including solo noise work for TV monitors and an album by his avant-rock unit Second Skin. He also curates the annual 2pi noise festival in Hangzhou. He played in at the Nuit Blanche festival in Paris in 2004, and this will be his second non-Chinese …

Coyote's call
Way-above-average improv from Japan. Electric strings (guitars?), saxophones, electronics, and samples move with unexpected ease frommeditative passages to intense blow-outs to free scatter. Sax player Yoshinori Yanagawa plays with the same sort of depth and passion as Albert Ayler-no fakin, no academic rendering. But hes only part of a much larger whole. The wash of precision rumble and sound-tweaking that surrounds everything creates chaos from an intensely ordered technology. Strange (not wei…

This is a release of analog sound experiments from old Sweden circa from electronic drone/noise masters Joachim Nordwall and Jan Svensson. Alvars Orkester was formed in 1987 in Johannishus, a small village in the southeast of Sweden by a group of young boys interested in the mysteries of psychic sickness, mental institutions, the industrial music cult…
