Disaster (Lüüd Noma)
In September 1968, Amon Düül played the "International Essener Songtage", Germany's first rock festival of five days duration, which was initiated by the later Ohr label boss Rolf-Ulrich Kaiser. The Berlin hit producer Peter Meisel heard and saw the band there and spontaneously signed them, along with Tangerine Dream and Birth Control. Amon Düül was close to the Berlin "Kommune 1" and came together at a time when everyone was an artist who wanted to be one. Anyone who wanted to could also be a m…
Momentum
Agitation Free was one of the leading representatives of German experimental rock music in the early 1970s. From the end of 1967, the Berlin band developed long instrumental improvisations that were unusually free for the time. They achieved cult status as early as 1972 with an independent mixture of improvised rock paired with electro, ethno, jazz and trance elements. Extensive live activities made the band increasingly well-known throughout Europe. In the summer of 1972, the group appeared in …

Denovali presents the second cooperation album of Italian composer, arranger, producer and guitarist Eraldo Bernocchi with Berlin-based Japanese violinist, composer, electronic producer and Tangerine Dream member Hoshiko Yamane. Eraldo Bernocchi and Hoshiko Yamane have come together again to create their second album - inspired by the Japanese concept of "Sabi". The record is a unique blend of electronic and acoustic music - with Bernocchi’s pulsating textures and Yamane's haunting treated violi…

Il Bisbetico Domato
The dear departed Detto Mariano wrote a very enjoyable comment, based on a love theme, that he retakes with pleasant instrumental variations alternated to funny tracks. The opening credits are introduced by the dance song “Step on dynamite” by “Clown”, which we will find later in two alternatives instrumental takes, and “La pigiatura”, performed by the choir with Patrizia Tapparelli, Mariano Perrella and Simona Aloisi. This latter track is the theme of the main movie scene, in which Elia dances …
Inheritance
*300 copies limited release* Orphax & PONI (person of no importance) is a collaboration between the two Dutch brothers, Sietse (Orphax) and Tjeerd (PONI) van Erve. Since their early years they share a broad interest in music, fed mostly from their fathers’ record collection, ranging from early blues to Pink Floyd or Beethoven. But also listening to Belgian radio channel Studio Brussels (which during the late 80s and early 90s was a common listening close to the borders between The Netherlands an…
A Concrete Pasture
*300 copies limited release* 'A Concrete Pasture’ by Coen Oscar Polack is the follow-up to ‘Haarlemmerhout’ (2020), an album named after a park close to his home in Haarlem in the Netherlands. ‘A Concrete Pasture’ brings Polack’s interest in exploring the larger world around him back into his music. Polack is a magician in combining field recordings from all over the world, be it a temple in Bangkok, the Dutch Wadden Islands or a the percussive Gamelan instruments, and electronic processing of t…
Smolders / Delaere / Nijs
*300 copies limited release* In 2021 Nijs and Smolders started a series of free improvisations. Each came from a different background and wanted to explore musical horizons that they were not used to. As a next step they decided to record an album of composed tracks. The experimental platform shifted from long improv sessions to composition and structure, with the work of Delaere as a source of inspiration. The material of his work, the unevenness, the detail of pigments clashing, superimposing …
Unfold Yourself
*200 copies limited edition* Unfold Yourself is a story about personal growth, about taking care of your own mental health. It's about an overwhelming darkness - seemingly endless. Giving yourself attention, trust, and time doesn't make these moments easier, but inevitably transforms the volatility into something fresh, someone new. Unfold Yourself is a reminder not the give up.
Cornos
A more upfront and streamlined proposition than last year's 'Dias da Aranha' on Souk, 'Cornos' is a reflection of Serpente's solo live apparitions throughout this last year. A cycle tainted by tragedies and a maze-like feeling of loss, 'Cornos' mirrors both the urge of overcoming and its ghostly remnants through five digressions that pulsate with crippled rhythmic symmetries and loner harmonic motifs. Maybe just the sound of moving on with broken legs.
Abbuio
"Abbuio" is a term that refers to the Italian translation of the English word "Blackout" according to the proposal of the Italian linguist Arrigo Castellani. This new work marks Bignamini's return to the solo acoustic guitar. Moving away from the more classic fingerpicking style, he offers five soft "ballads" (3 improvisations and 2 compositions) inspired by sleepless nights.

Spuren & Gegenworte
“Spuren & Gegenworte” began with a quasi-telepathic collaboration between KM and RW. Both recorded a track on May 3, 2021, from 8:00 PM to 8:10 PM. These recordings were subsequently transformed, combined, juxtaposed, and further modified over the course of several months, resulting in the completion of the four pieces on the CD. “Spuren & Gegenworte” can be translated as “traces & antonyms”, opening up a wide range of interpretations. “Traces” may refer to the remnants of the original sounds th…
Go East
Brueder Selke, a polyinstrumental composer duo originally from East Berlin, consistently enriches the repertoire of their two primary instruments: cello and piano. Their independent curator role shines through as they frequently host boutique concerts and happenings, featuring both established and emerging artists during their yearly Q3Ambientfest. 'Go East' marks a significant milestone in the long-term collaboration of Brueder Selke, two brothers who grew up on the socialist side of the Berlin…
Tropic of Capricorn
Tropic of Capricorn is the second album by Lawrence English and Werner Dafeldecker. Based on field recordings made by the prolific Room40 owner that were subtly but decisively altered with electroacoustic techniques through the German improv legend, these two long-form pieces blur the lines between acoustic ecology and aesthetic interventions, concrete local sound worlds and boundary-defying art. They put a focus on our relationship with nature as listeners as much as they call into question whe…
Jodo
*2023 stock* Takehiro Honda joins forces with Reggie Workman on bass and Motohiko Hino on drums in this outstanding trio session. The album showcases a freer side of Honda, exploring open and lyrical modes that were gaining prominence in Japan during that period. Despite the freedom, a strong rhythmic sense prevails. While one track features Honda on electric piano, the acoustic numbers stand out with a proud and righteous energy.

*Limited Edition* Pianist Shoji Aketagawa, the creative force behind the consistently unconventional Aketa's Disc label, presents an album with an unusual title that aligns with the label's distinctiveness. The material, while not explicitly erotic or grotesque, showcases Shoji's beautiful and robust notes on several solo tracks. The album takes a unique turn as Shoji collaborates with the trio on the final tune, offering a quality unlike any other artist we can think of. The piano, possessing t…
