The title nods to Pink Floyd, but Chromagain's sound draws more from new wave's electronic experiments than progressive rock's sprawl. Any Colour You Like documents an Italian band navigating the intersection of synth-pop accessibility and post-punk's angular edges. Supporti Fonografici operated as a home for Italian artists working in this synthetic territory - not quite Italo disco, not quite cold wave, but something distinctly local. A transitional document from a scene in constant evolution.
Chromagain was one of the greatest italian minimal wave bands of the old italian wave. They made a lot of gigs with audiovisual supports, playing with important wave bands like Litfiba, Carmody and Denovo. Electronic wave, with some debt to New Order's ‘Movement’ and ‘Power, Corruption & Lies’, but also highly original, the tracks are assembling an out of the blue mix between dark and mournful ballads and outbursts of joy for cutting-edge dancefloors.
