Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann is the Irish traditional music organisation founded in 1951 to stop the music dying, and by the seventies it was sending concert tours of its best players across Europe and North America and recording them for its own label. This is one of those touring-group records: fiddles, flute, pipes, accordion, a singer, a dancer whose feet are audible, playing reels and airs in the tight ensemble style that Comhaltas favoured.

It is the sound of Irish music just before the Bothy Band and Planxty made it hip, a purist's snapshot with real players (the tour groups were often the cream of the competition circuit). Irish pressing, CL series.
