*50 copies limited edition* "Earth Burning Red is an album by Glasgow based ambient musician Bobby Jewell for Lontano Series. The seven tracks were made on individual days over the past two years in response to news, events, data and announcements around the climate crisis.
With track titles reflecting these moments in the newscycle you can see words of condemnation from the UN's António Guterres, the Climate Change Committee decrying a lost decade of climate action in 2023, the now completely impossible dream of keeping the planet to just 1.5 degrees of overheating or British Judge Christopher Hehir sentencing Just Stop Oil activists in 2024, dismissing their legitimate concerns for the end of the world as 'neither here nor there'.
From seeing this catastrophe play out on screens combined with the mind-boggling inertia, misinformation and greenwashing, Earth Burning Red documents these immediate emotions into the deep-well of ambient music.
