Deluxe edition, gatefold cover – The State51 Conspiracy is proud to announce the highly anticipated vinyl release of Nurse With Wound's extraordinary new album Healsgebedda Budgerigar (meaning "beloved budgie" in mangled old English). Originally released as an exclusive offering to subscribers of acclaimed music publication The Quietus, this mesmerizing sonic journey is now available as a limited edition 1LP pressing. Writing for The Quietus, critics John Doran and Russell Cuzner describe the album as "a sonic document of profound but fleeting psychedelic anamnesis. That moment during a voyage of mind-manifesting entanglement when, seemingly out of nowhere, a moment of pure recall returns in true experiential vividness. The sounds, the setting, the sights, a pure analogue of specific emotions and sensations from a single moment in time long since forgotten, crystallizing just as quickly as they then shatter and disperse once more."

Healsgebedda Budgerigar represents yet another visionary achievement from Steven Stapleton's Nurse With Wound project. The album's three compelling tracks journey through landscapes of memory and dreams. Healsbedda Budergigar / Naaaagh Ha opens like a scramble to piece together fragments of recollection – the vocalisations of a once-dear pet, jazz from an old Bakelite radio, a passing police car, the intrusion of a wasp, someone retuning for opera – before sinking back into bardo-like depths. He Went In A Pig And Came Out A Sausage tracks the journey from sublime reverie to the theme of a favorite childhood cowboy show that may or may not have existed in reality. Belas Knap (Sappho Oopart) delivers what critics describe as "the music that would be playing in the Black Lodge episodes of Twin Peaks… if the soundtrack had been allowed to mirror the sublime derangement of these scenes."

As The Quietus review notes: "At the foundations of this strange sound world is a potent trinity: a brimming passion for record collecting, an openness to all sounds and an unbound capacity for invention." The album showcases Nurse With Wound's continued ability to transpose surrealism's visual art movement into pure sound, creating what art historian Briony Fer describes as work that aims "to reveal the unconscious… and to undo prevalent conceptions of order and reality." For over four decades, Nurse With Wound has remained one of experimental music's most visionary and uncompromising forces. Steven Stapleton's project has consistently pushed the boundaries of sound art, creating immersive sonic experiences that challenge conventional notions of music and reality.
