On Enchanted And Delighted the New York electronic composer and improviser Ikue Mori gathers music and visual work from 2016 to 2025: eight compositions recorded at her Electric Komachi Studio, paired on the DVD with her own films, a parallel world of handmade dolls, puppets, animation and miniature theatrical sets, full of strange characters, dream images, science fiction settings and figures from Japanese ghost lore.
Mori's electronics are at the centre, moving between finely detailed digital textures, fragmented rhythms, luminous atmospheres and more volatile collisions. Some pieces open to long-standing collaborators: pianist Satoko Fujii and trumpeter Natsuki Tamura on 'Pilgrim', vocalist Koichi Makigami on 'Tales From Beyond', and Zeena Parkins on acoustic and electric harps and Ondes Martenot on 'You May Dream'. Their voices enter Mori's worlds without breaking her careful sense of space, colour and narrative.
