An Italian travelogue LP from the seventies, when Kathmandu was the end of the hippie trail and Italian labels were producing "impressions" records for the armchair traveller: temple bells, street music, chanting, the sounds of the Durbar Square, a Newar wedding band, assembled with Italian notes. Ducale was a Milanese imprint with a catalogue that ran from folk to documentary.

The recordings are unpolished and that is their value; this is Nepal before the trekking industry, heard by an Italian with a portable recorder and no anthropological training, which produces a different kind of truth from the Ocora approach. Italian pressing, FD series.
