Nobuo Terahara: A prominent figure in this group, having studied under the renowned Soviet composer Aram Khachaturian at the Moscow State Conservatoire for seven years. His style often reflects a bridge between Japan and Russia, characterized by works like the "Poem for Violoncello and Piano" and his famous "Tokyo-Peking" vocal piece, which became a symbol of Japan-China friendship. Toshiyuki Ozaki: Known for his evocative piano compositions, such as "Isolation" (Für Klavier), which is featured on the 1981 compilation. His work typically explores modernistic themes with a focus on solo instrumental performance. Kiyotomi Yoshizaki: A composer whose work often deals with temporal and spatial themes, notably his piece "In Time". He is recognized for integrating traditional Japanese sensibilities within a contemporary classical framework. Kazuo Kikkawa: Represented on the same compilation, Kikkawa's contributions often feature chamber arrangements that emphasize melodic clarity and structural precision.
