Beautiful 1979 album on ALM of 1970's experimental solo flute music (except for a piano/flute duo) by Japanese composers played by Michio Kai.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM

No insert nor OBI.

This masterpiece, released in 1979, was produced by flutist Michio Kai, who was based in Germany and active mainly in Europe from the 1970s, in collaboration with five of Japan's leading contemporary composers: Yuji Takahashi, Joji Yuasa, Katsuhiro Tsubono, Setsun Kai, and Yoriaki Matsudaira. Released on ALM Records, a label run by Kojima Recordings, it features a flute solo and a duo with Yuji Takahashi and piano. While all the tracks are excellent, the duo with Yuji Takahashi, heard on A3 (composed by Yuji Takahashi) and B2 (composed by Katsuhiro Tsubono), is particularly outstanding. As expected from a Kojima recording, the sound quality is also excellent, and you will be captivated by the tense, minimalist tones of the flute and piano, floating in a sound field with just the right amount of natural reverb. Highly recommended.
