Conscious Feedback Group (C.F.G.) is a gang of three formed in 2018 by MAI mai, Xu Cheng and Jun-Y Ciao. Improvisation is their way. They use mediums of music, sound, text and performance to explore a non-identifiable style that has nothing to do with fancy illusions.

This live recording is C.F.G.'s iterative improvisation between semantic, phonetic, vocal and musical sounds, based on a two-page fragment of text from Yang Sao's poetic drama "Tune of Heart", written in 1924.

The first half is based on a very "Post-Garde" concept: when a C pentatonic (C, D, E, G, A) is superimposed on a D pentatonic (D, E, F#, A, B), a 雅乐调 (C Lydian Mode) is formed: C, D, E, F#, G, A, B. Each of the three performers improvises on one of the scale bases, gradually adding notes.
The second half is an improvisation without any arrangement.
