Earlier today I was listening to some music I’d made a few years ago. The only way I can describe it is that it sounded like the music of a dead person. I can’t explain it better than that. It sounded as if I was already dead. If I’m honest, sometimes I think I’m already dead, and that whatever this is – my life, my experiences ‘from the inside’ – is just the temporary afterglow of something else. If I suddenly began to evaporate from the feet up, it wouldn’t surprise me. It would make perfect sense.
