This is a collaboration between Flutwacht and Vincenzo Bossi, two projects from Germany, and Siona is already their eighth release. Siona was "performed and recorded live without audience", which suggests a number of options, of which a live, one-take performance is probably the most likely. This CD actually consists of two distinct styles: one harsh noise and ambient soundscapes, and the other a more restrained (relatively speaking) and structured power electronic sojourn. The noise tracks consist largely of a monotonous drone broken occasionally by terrified and distorted screams or shouts, while the less repetitive power electronics possesses a passing similarity to the rhythmic noise of Brighter Death Now."
