1973 album on I Dischi Dello Zodiaco with field recordings made "on the roads of Vietnam" during the Vietnam war.

condition (record/cover): EX+ / VG+ (sticker removal residue inside gatefold)

Tri-folded sleeve.

I Dischi dello Zodiaco was Vedette's ethnographic and political imprint, and this is one of its most remarkable items: field recordings made in North Vietnam during the war, in Hanoi, Quang Binh and Nam Ha, by Emilio Sarzi Amadè, and produced for Italian release by A. Virgilio Savona, better known as the bass voice of the Quartetto Cetra. Yes, that Quartetto Cetra: Savona ran a second life as a folk researcher and political record producer, and this album is where the two Italies of the seventies meet.

Traditional music, work songs, a ca trù fragment, songs of the front, recorded on location in a country under bombardment. Tri-fold gatefold with photographs and notes in Italian. The Zodiaco VPA series is collected for Inti-Illimani and Victor Jara; this is the volume that goes furthest afield.
