2008 release ** "Depressive Disorder, No Name Desire, Gregory and Mastermind are the main drivers of the small but functional label Monopol Records. The first own retrospective simply named after the publisher's name and the addition "The 5th Anniversary Compilation" brings exclusive tracks not only from them, but also from friendly bands or neighbors in the industry such as Aliens from Bratislava. Fifteen tracks across the spectrum of the Czechoslovak underground electro scene are infectiously inspiring. "The 5th Anniversary Compilation" is unusually balanced and also brings completely new projects. Among them are, for example, the audiovisual Frontier Guards ("Insider"), who recently released their debut "Predestination". On the other hand, Mastermind, after a long hiatus, has released the new "Time Is Out". As always, Anhedonia, Disharmony, Oxyd or a couple of songs by Depressive Disorder deserve their attention - one of them is the remix of "Reality" from the successful album "In Depth". Monopol Records does a commendable job on the Czech scene and, as already mentioned in the introduction, tries to promote local electronica, which is gaining deserved attention even beyond our borders. Celebrating its fifth birthday with this selection is a great gift for fans of darker electro."
