*100 copies limited edition* Vigilant is the solo project of Dmitry Polivenko, a musician and sound artist from Voronezh, Russia. Founded in 2020, the project crafts immersive sonic landscapes through the transformation of cassette loops, field recordings, and guitar textures, skillfully blending analog warmth with contemporary digital processing.
Drawing from experimental, ambient, and industrial influences, Vigilant creates evocative compositions that balance raw sonic exploration with a strong sense of atmosphere. The project's distinctive approach has earned recognition within the underground experimental music scene, leading to releases on acclaimed labels including Kultzmrok, EMIVA Records, Nycklar, Subsist, and Broken Tape Records. In addition to his solo work, Dmitry is a member of the noise project Пожар на улице Мира (Fire on Mira Street / PNUM), a powerful live duo that explores the outer limits of sound and transgressive art. Through intense performances and uncompromising sonic experiments, the project reflects on the tensions, challenges, and transformations of contemporary society. With each release, Vigilant continues to push the boundaries of analog-based experimentation, establishing himself as a compelling voice within today's international experimental and ambient music landscape.
"This album is an exploration of memory, nostalgia, and the passage of time. It reflects a feeling that returns to me every year—a yearning for a fleeting moment of happiness preserved deep within my childhood. Winter, with its silence and wonder, remains one of my earliest memories: sitting wrapped in a blanket on a sled, carried through snow-covered streets by my father. Today, I walk those same streets alone, guided by fragments of the past. Time can feel like a storm that clouds our vision and pulls us away from ourselves. Yet beneath the weight of accumulated experiences, expectations, and endless information, there remains a quiet certainty: beyond the noise, beyond the dreams and fears, lies the possibility of rediscovering who we truly are. This album is a journey through that landscape of remembrance and self-discovery." - Dmitry Polivenko
