Blue Moon - Original Motion-Picture Sound-Track
Original score to the 1986 Roxy Film Production Blue Moon by Dieter Moebius (of C/Kluster/Harmonia/_ & Roedelius fame...). Nice, if somewhat short selection of synth-themes & pain-relieving sonics. Surprisingly low usage of era sound-producing technologies, although they ARE in there (the DX7 ruined E-Music for an entire generation...). 80's Moebius/Roedelius output is only now starting to ripen w/age, no reason not to enhance your personal selection w/a crate or two of this fine ruby port
Split
The shared space on this split 12” vinyl is a celestial experience. The depth of field is adjusted by a natural collaboration between two artists; Goodnight Stars Goodnight Air (David Kresge), who plays on and off with Dragon Turtle (Tom Asselin and Brian Lightbody).Spill Out The Night is Dragon Turtle's exploration, inspired by the cover photograph, a Hasselblad image captured by Jeremy Blakeslee; the night sky in the forest of Pennsylvania as the Orion constellation begins its drift towards wi…

Psychoneurose
2005 release ** "Italian Avant-Noise legend M.B. and Land Use collaborate on dramatic, subterranean wall-of-noise constructions and swirling textural storms, dense and complex arrangements, shifting and shimmering tones barely under control, streaming toward some distant and indefineable precipice. Not noisy, but way too tense and corrosive to be called ambient. These vibrant monoliths of sound shift the listeners pysche into a restless sort of zen, a blissful chaos - truly mind and mood-alterin…
The Everything And The Nothing
*Limited edition of 300 copies.* Celer is a husband (Will) and wife (Danielle) duo from California that use a variety of strings as the basis for their sound. Cello, viola, violin and the sounds are mixed in with field recordings, choir, live theremin and then tape spliced and re-assembled in varying lengths to create a loop base. Those sounds are then sampled, layered and processed. The result is a shimmering orchestra. Periods of silence between the notes only enhance the sound. Though at time…
Elisionem
2006 release ** "'The 'elision' in the traditional music is a coercive and systematic dispositive necessary to assimilate two syllabic notes in one only. The 'elisionem', in the avant-gardist branch, is a sound absorbent course used amalgamate various sonorous elements into one. The main purpose is to generate an eclectic and axiomatic damping of the electroacoustic particles in order to proportion the achromatic fulfilment of modern concretism. And the final effect is phonographically disarming…

47 Songs Humans Shouldn't Sing
2008 release ** Eugene Carchesio's renown as a visual artist has unjustly eclipsed his extraordinary output as a soundmaker. Since the mid 80s, the Brisbane artist has steadfastly proliferated a sack full of barely released cassettes and cdrs under the D.N.E. moniker.Twenty years ago, he emptied his wallet to press 250 copies of the appropriately titled LP 47 Songs Humans Shouldn't Sing'. Then compact discs arrived. The local pressing plant closed and the master tape went with it. Copies were ci…
Painting Sky Together
Wroclaw based sound artist Tomasz Bednarczyk has a penchant for capturing the emotion in moments of stasis. It's this acute sense of expanding fleeting moments and exploring their detail that informs the sonic palette of his latest full length recording Painting Sky Together. Akin to his acclaimed debut edition 'Summer Feelings' (Room40), which elegantly documented a uniquely Polish experience of summer replete with distantly warm bursts of piano, and crisp glitch ridden pulses, Painting Sky Tog…

Intangible Opacity
Intangible Opacity dares to visit the place where the Earth’s atmosphere ends and the infinity of space begins, following the physical and chemical processes that occur in the ionosphere. The sound is based on warm but at the same time somehow distanced synthetic textures, and classical “el-music”. Gino Fioravanti, alias Aglaia, that with each new release continues to expand their vocabulary and to enriches its palette of sounds and colors. The immersive power of this work has reached the …

Twilight Rituals
2003 release ** "T.A.C. is a group of sonic alchemists who fuse synthetics, strings, acoustic instruments and treatments into a tapestry of psycho/ambient soundscapes filled with hypnotic atmospheres and synthetic incantations. It is surreal, cerebral and unique "cosmic" music of a new sort. T.R. was recorded in the same sessions of "Waiting for the Twilight" and include 14 new exclusive tracks..., a sort of "Waiting..." twin album."Twilight Rituals" is the complementary twin album to "Waiting F…
Waiting For The Twilight
2002 release ** "T.A.C. is a group of sonic alchemists who fuse synthetics, strings, acoustic instruments and treatments into a tapestry of psycho/ambient soundscapes filled with hypnotic atmospheres and synthetic incantations. After a long time of hibernating sleep, this unforgetted experienced italian band is bac…
Enso
2007 release ** "Although the cover art for Enso is strikingly similar to recent 12k releases, there the similarity ends. With Enso, Luigi Turra has conjured up an organic and contemplative three-track epic, that resonates on subsequent listenings. Infused with Japanese sonic architectures and rigorous reductionist principles, this is a deeply meditative world of gently plucked instruments, and faded atmospherics, peppered with closely focussed tinklings and crystalline shards to add texture. Be…
Muddy speaking Ghosts through my Machines
2006 release ** Muddy Speaking Ghosts Through My Machines' is the brand new album released together by Fabio Orsi and Gianluca Becuzzi. This album will be certainly followed by other cooperations, considering the big friendly artistic sodality between them. Fabio e Gianluca are a strange duo, considering the big differences of their artistic back-ground. Fabio Orsi is a young and unexpected talent. After his first album, "Osci" (LP, SmallVoices 2005), produced by Gianluca Becuzzi, he got a lot o…

Black Sea
Black Sea is the much-anticipated new album from Christian Fennesz, his first since Venice. Fennesz’s career has come a long way since Instrument, his debut for Mego in 1995, and his first solo album Hotel Paral.lel which followed in 1998. Endless Summer [Mego, 2001] brought him to a much wider audience and Venice underlined his mastery of melody and dissonance. His songs usually embody the skilful application and manipulation of dense sonic textures with a genuine feel for the live, and real-ti…
Basis
'Basis' is based on recordings of acoustic instruments. All sounds were processed and layered into compositions by Steinbrüchel. Through this processing Steinbrüchel revealed hidden structures and melodies and isolated them, creating new melodic and organic textures without losing the soul of the original. These seven tracks reveal a new side in his music. Tonal harmonics have never before played such an important role and each track contains layers of subtle shifting and interweaving melodies, …
Isabelle Eberhardt: The Oblivion Seeker
Another Schutze soundtrack, this is for a relatively big-budget, commercial film, and is consequently one of his most conventional recordings. However, it does showcase his talents as a composer and a manipulator of synthesized sound. Acting as a studio "one man band," Schutze has created a score which is lush and fully orchestral, with extensive use of string, horn and woodwind voicings, and some fine contrapuntal writing. Several sections even seem to follow traditional classical forms such as…
