**50 numbered copies + 18 un-numbered copies** "On December 7, 2014, Z’EV opened up for Steven Wilson & Thomas Köner as part of the Extrapool program Brombron at the local Doornroosje venue. Z’EV was an earlier guest, recording with KK Null in 2009, and provided a great audio-visual support. The next day, he set up his electronic drums in Extrapool and Peter Johan Nÿland and Frans de Waard rooted the sound to various speakers in- and outside the venue, using the acoustic qualities of the spaces,…
In 20 Jazz Funk Greats Drew Daniel (of the experimental band Matmos) creates-through both his own insights and exclusive interviews with the band-an exploded view of the album's multiple agendas: a series of close readings of each song, shot through with a sequence of thematic entries on key concepts, strategies, and contexts (noise, leisure, process, the abject, information, and repetition). This is a smart and unusual book about a pioneering band.“Daniel brings erudition and clarity to the 33 …
**300 copies** The second in the Zoviet France reissue series compiles a pair of their early 12”s. Less murky and more stripped-down, rhythm driven than their debut, Garista (1982), the tracks on both $oviet France (1982) and Norsch (1983) are more easily identifiable as products of the post-punk / post-industrial era, yet they still sound as though from a parallel musical universe or overlapping timeline. We’d attribute this perceived difference to the rest of UK tape culture and post-industria…
**300 copies** Vinyl-On-Demand kick off a keenly anticipated Zoviet France reissue scheme with Garista, the sui generis Geordie unit’s 1982 debut slab of cranky, atavistic expression. Industrial-not-industrial, ambient-not-ambient, and so on, Garista gave the first glimpse of Zoviet France’s sprawling, organically freeform soundworld on a self-released tape in 1982. Like cracking open Hellraiser’s puzzlebox, all the variegated, phantasmagoric hallmarks of their sound began to emerge from their d…
Following the excellent reissue of Aither last year, Emotional Rescue return to the dreamy, decidedly tripped out sound world of French-Persian outfit Vox Populi! with this enchanting collection of early rarities from the early to mid 80s. There's a range of moods on offer here, sounding very much of the era with dashes of On-U dub colliding with kosmische and the worldly outlook of Byrne, Brian Eno, Jon Hassell et al. It's a varied listen and a wonderful introduction to a band that could …
2013 release ** "This is the second release from Maurizio Bianchi for Red Light sound. It begins explores the world of tubolar percussion while track two takes a completely different turn using modular synth treatments with Pharmakustik."
"Second and final collaborative work by MB [Maurizio Bianchi] & MO [Mauthausen Orchestra], recorded before the premature departure of Pierpalo Zoppo the man behind Maurhausen Orchestra (R.I.P.).In the modulatory system, sounds are extracted from a basic materialistic sound and then overlaid with the use of random techniques that conceal the rumoristic load-bearing tones. The result is these "Material Modulations", which represent the primary device to receive physical and emotional response for …
Like the strong scent of copal brings ancient memories and visions, each track here depicts a scenery and involves the listener directly, totally. Introduced by the obscure night of "Notturno", like in a wood, crowded with spirits and animals, you're guided through 9 gates, each one opening on a different space and time. As if the purpose was to awake the slumbering ancestral memory of man, this record is fundamentally based on the dualism of elements strictly relating to the human being: "voic…

Sub Rosa presents works by industrial music pioneer, Z'EV. The physical vibrations of the objects in his works with both text and sound has been influenced by the Middle Eastern mystical system best known as Kabbalah, as well as -- but not limited to -- African, Afro-Caribbean and Indonesian rhythms, musics and cultures. He has studied Ewe music, Balinese gamelan, and Indian tala. From 1959-1965 he studied drumming with Arnie Frank, then Chuck Flores and then Art Anton at Drum City in Van …
2008 release ** "Maurizio Bianchi is more than a legend in contemporary electronica, he is beyond good and evil by now in what respects to creative effort, he has surpassed all genres and styles, has reinvented and deconstructed himself, has even recessed from doing music during years and has come back again fresh and rejuvenated. With a vast discography and extensive musical career as sound sculptor and textural colonizer Bianchi is more alive than ever. “Innervation” released by the excellent …
Dogs Blood Rising is Current 93's seminal second album. It's been returned to its original formats of five tracks, and has been beautifully re-mastered by Denis Blackham. This reissue comes with a booklet with early photographs of the group members-- who included David Tibet, Steven Stapleton (Nurse With Wound), and Steve Ignorant (Crass)-- and original insert materials.
As a group whose work has spanned the best part of eighteen years, Ain Soph have always acted as a touchstone for the post-industrial scene, whether in the form of their early ritualistic utterances such as I and II (issued by Misty Circles in 1984 and 1985 respectively) which gave us a style which was to find its purest and most sophisticated form in 1988's Kshatriya, or in their later and more classically-influenced work such as the Cthulhu-issued Ain Soph/Sigillum S split cassette or the St…

PREORDER, 3xLP box edition + tshirt "Much of the music included in this set is exclusive to this vinyl version of ‘Miscellany’. Andrew Liles has compiled a comprehensive anthology including as much varied, interesting and unreleased material as possible. He spent many an afternoon sifting through piles of cassettes seeking the oldest and arguably most definitive pieces of music from literally hundreds of hours of tape. The earliest recordings on these discs date back to 1984. ‘Find a New Husband’…
1st full-length LP of BT.HN. formed by Sam McKinlay from Vancouver, well known as a totally outstanding project The Rita, also as a member of Edwige, Zenta Sustained and so on.This rituals feature Josh Rose from Sick Buildings, and is concerned by French realism around 'La Bete Humaine' by Emile Zola / Jean Renoir.Throbbing electronics are crawling on stratum waves of harshness with bursts of heavily blunt cracks and crags, cruel atomosphere dominate over the fear.Burnish core is standing on the…
This album finds Merzbow in full-on, harsh-noise mode, at least at first listen. The more one becomes acclimated to the sound, the more layers of activity emerge: electric groans and roars, bird-call-like feedback, moog sirens, percussive analog static, thousands of pots and pans falling down a hill, even the occasional vocal. It's this artful layering of sound (among other things) that separates Merzbow from some jag-off that just turns on a noise generator and walks away. 1 copy available
2006 release ** "After the "A M.B. Iehn Tale" release (CD - SmallVoices 2005) for the first time Maurizio Bianchi meets TH26, historical Italian project in dark electronics. After their first official release ("La Haine" CD - SmallVoices 2002) they are now back with this amazing cooperation. For this release TH26 leaves their usual rhythmical attitude, in perfect symbiosis with Maurizio Bianchi, the "father" of Italian industrial music. This work presents deep obscure minimal soundscapes, moving…
