Alexander Robotnick

Alexander Robotnick is the stage name of Maurizio Dami, an Italian electronic musician who grew up in Florence. He is known above all for Problèmes d'Amour (1983), a dance track first issued by Materiali Sonori and since regarded as a cult record of the early 1980s. After years spent on world music and ambient projects, he revived the Robotnick name in the 2000s as a producer and DJ. Dami began as a founding member of the dance-cabaret band Avida. He created the Robotnick character with Giampiero and Arlo Bigazzi and Marzio Benelli.
