"It was strange how our public changed. Rock promoters invited us and were bemused, and jazz festivals invited us and lived to regret it! (laughs) We played once in Austria, and Cecil Taylor was there and loved it. He told me it was the only thing in the festival that didn't bore him. The journalists hated it, though. They said it was punk rock. "

Feu !
MKB Fraction Provisoire (Messageros Killers Boys) is the variable-geometry musical project of filmmaker and writer F.J. Ossang, founded in 1980 to feed a need for creativity fueled by the punk movement and the Industrial scene. The band’s music is characterized by a blend of punk rock, blues, and avant-garde influences, with Ossang’s poetic lyrics often addressing themes of alienation, decadence, and despair. After a self-released EP in 1981, Provenance France, M.K.B. released their first LP, Te…
Si()six
Several years of mutual appreciation and encounters on- and off-stage have been the root of this chance meeting, resulting in an unplanned mysterious collaboration album where the aura of each individual - none other than Anne Gillis, Jac Berrocal, Vincent Epplay, Timo van Luijk - is augmented by the magic osmosis of united forces. The 12-tracks display a collage of dreamy musique concrète with desolate instrumental and vocal interventions, masterfully balanced out by Vincent Epplay. Recorded at…
Boîte Boîte
"Boîte Boîte" is the latest collection from French trumpeter Jac Berrocal. Composed of rare and previously unreleased tracks, it plunges the listener into the fascinating world of this unclassifiable and timeless avant-garde artist. Recorded between Paris, New York, Berlin and Riga, the works are received like postcards from an unknown sender and enjoyed without moderation. The selection, devised by Jac Berrocal himself, oscillates between experimental tracks such as the eponymous 'Boîte Boîte' …
Transcodex
*In process of stocking* Jac Berrocal, David Fenech and Vincent Epplay are back with a true gem of an album: Transcodex. Turning more towards pop than in their beginnings, this fourth record follows the footsteps of their previous album, Exterior Lux. The trio seems limitless: they experiment with a large variety of styles (pop, dub, electronica, dark jazz), always colored by their very own touch. Jac Berrocal’s trumpet, richer than ever, plays over an ever-changing sonic landscape engineered by…

Parallèles
* Deluxe Edition limited and numbered to 99 copies in 200g vinyl and metallic sleeve *  1976, Vince Taylor, the Black Archangel of Rock’n’roll, agrees to come and record “Rock’n’Roll Station”, a piece of futuristic clinking of a bicycle wheel. Other sessions contrary to custom, a pigsty with microphones mired in the middle of unruly pigs, towels shaken by Pierre Bastien in the middle of this “bric-a-brac” a noisy piece in homage to Luigi Russolo repertoire reorganized by bonuses and unpublished …
Catalogue (LP)
* Deluxe Edition limited and numbered to 99 copies in 200g vinyl and metallic sleeve *  1979, the year of the album Catalogue. Jac Berrocal and his “Marquises of disorder” make the guitars rattle in primrose-sprayed vomit, patchwork of uncontrollable slows, furious accordion (Claude Parle) and martial rocks. Kind of “Micro-cinemas put end-to-end”, a maelstrom of cries and saturation which, paradoxically, an album that is worth the respect of the Punks and the contempt of jazz purists. Berrocal i…
Exterior Lux
** 2021 Stock ** Jac Berrocal is a 1946-born musician (trumpet player), poet and sometime film actor who came of age in the ‘70s Paris improv scene, where the boundaries between music, art and theatre were porous and begging to be breached. Inspired by bebop, chanson, free jazz, beat poetry, early rock ‘n roll and myriad Eastern influences, and with an iconoclastic, anything-goes approach to instrumentation and technique that would later align him with post-punk sensibilities, Berrocal blazed an…

Brussel Live
Highlights of their first 2 concerts in about 20 years, live in Brussels (2007-2008), shows the trio of Gilbert Artman, Jac Berrocal and Jean-Francois Pauvros anarchistic, powerful and controversial as ever. Uncertain rockers, exacerbated freejazzmen, pranksters, Jean-Francois Pauvros: guitarist, Jac Berrocal: trumpeter and vocalist, Gilbert Artman: drummer and pianist are a bit of everything, rock stomping, boring the avant garde, enraging the virtuosity. Trespassing the unbreakable with the su…
Fuel 217 / Sacre'
Private Edition of 230 copies. Historical 'lost' 1982 recordings issued on a 7" picture disc, blending the wonderful voice of Jacques Doyen, the music by Jac Berrocal and a background collage of distant, heavily-treated and distorted sounds from Anne Gillis (whose voice is also filtered through a De Dion Bouton oil can) "Yet another Jac Berrocal picture disc! Is there another member of the French underground more dedicated to this format than Berrocal? I say no! And this one’s as good as all the…
La nuit est au courant

Antigravity
Legendary trumpeter Jac Berrocal joins two fellow travelers in the French avant-garde,David Fenech and Vincent Epplay. A lugubrious mise-en-scène in which ice-cold outlaw jazz meets musique concrète, DIY whimsy, and dubwise studio science, all watched over by the lost souls and hungry ghosts of rock 'n' roll. The trio's first album together, Antigravity is a richly imagined universe combining original compositions and détourned standards. Berrocal revisits his own signature piece "Rock 'n Roll S…

Superdisque
Superdisque is the first album from the French trio formed by David Fenech (electric guitar) with Jac Berrocal (trumpet) and Ghédalia Tazartès (vocals). Somewhere beyond the borders of rock, jazz, punk and sound poetry -- the vocals seem to come from another planet, with lyrics in an improvised language. The winds are blown from Tibetan human bones and conch seashells. Guitars sound like rubber and steel. Expect the unexpected. Special guest Zap Pascal (accordion) appears on one track. David Fen…

Hotel Hotel
idiosyncratic French musical provocateur's finest moments and laden with ace contributions from an international cast of oddballs including Pierre Bastien and Clive Bell, the provisional constructs Berrocal and co. jerry-rig around the free floating music signifiers that comprise Berrocal's aesthetic M.O. are slippery, beautiful things, riding across the seams of art song, meditative orientalia, drunken free jazz bleat, dark electropop, hazy jazz reverbed into Hassell-esque fourth-worldisms and …
Marie-Antoinette is not dead
Crystal transparent 7' vinyl encrusted with white sprayings, numbered and stamped edition limited to 470 copies. Stunning collaboration between four entities who all left an indelible track in various spheres and in different eras, such as Jac berrocal, a mythical figure, improvisator in his music and his encounters, a visionary poet and avant garde trumpeter who went against the grain in jazz and punk, amongst others, and his associate Jack Belsen, a virtuoso with the machines, guitarist and in…
