Karin Johansson

Karin Johansson is a Swedish pianist based in Gothenburg, active in free improvisation and the free jazz scene. She plays piano and prepared piano, and also the zither, and works mostly in small groups where acoustic, often prepared instruments are pushed into open, collectively improvised forms. Karin Johansson formed the duo Arter with saxophonist Lisen Rylander Löve, whose album Arter (Havtorn, 2020) takes its track titles from Swedish red-listed plants and animals.
