Martina Verhoeven

Martina Verhoeven is a pianist and multi-instrumentalist working in free improvisation and free jazz. She is also a photographer, and she played electric bass and then double bass before concentrating on the piano. Verhoeven is best known for her long partnership in life and music with the guitarist Dirk Serries. Several of their records appear on New Wave of Jazz. Verhoeven played double bass in Fantoom and in a trio with Serries and saxophonist Colin Webster (Cinepalace, recorded 2015).
