Miles Davis

Miles Davis (1926 to 1991) was a trumpeter, bandleader and composer, one of the most important figures in the history of jazz and of twentieth century music as a whole. Over five decades he stayed at the front of nearly every major stylistic turn: bebop with Charlie Parker, the Birth of the Cool sessions, hard bop, the modal jazz of Kind of Blue (1959), the second great quintet with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock, and the electric music of Bitches Brew (1970). Born in Alton, Illinois, and raised in East St.
