Telaio Magnetico

La Convenzione / Paranoia (7")
* 2021 Stock. * Pollution from 1972 is the captivating follow-up to Fetus. Like its predecessor, the album features Baroque textures, motorik rhythms, weird tape effects and Franco Battiato’s perfectly oblique vocals, with a minimalist sound mainly based on the use of a VCS3 synth, unusual lyrics, complex arrangements: upon hearing Pollution, Frank Zappa joyfully proclaimed it “genius.” While Battiato’s core group of collaborators remains largely the same as on his debut, this phenomenal band (j…
La Voce Del Padrone (40th Anniversary) LP
* Black vinyl, 180 gr. LP with printed inner * The turning-point of Franco Battiato's career: from uncompromising experimentation and progressive electronica to catchy melodies and refrains. The transition had already begun with L'era del cinghiale bianco, but "La voce del padrone" made it complete: its seven refinate synth-pop, with a bit of Krautrock influence, anthems catapulted the album to the top of the hit parade and made it the best-selling Italian album ever. Meticulously produced, with…

A Mid Autumn Night’s Dream
CD Edition. A Mid Autumn Night’s Dream faithfully report a one shot concert that took place at Conservatorio Nicolini in Piacenza on October 1st, 2016. The four giants of new music never played together before. As the lights turned off something magic started. A spontaneous interplay, an amazingflowing of notes. The subject was the Night, its mystic flavours. Paolo Tofani, now a hindi monk, is a living legend in Italian avantgarde music having been the driving force of the band Area in the seven…
La Finestra Dentro
**2018 repress, blue vinyl, edition of 200** Vinyl release in a faithful replica of the original 1974 edition!! Aged 22, Juri Camisasca, a reclusive and mysterious musician, with help of his producer Franco Battiato, put out La Finestra Dentro eally isn’t what you’d call mainstream RPI, but rather a twisted, mysterious offshoot from the generally more outgoing and flamboyant Italian scene. The collection of songs carries elements of folk with strong acid tendencies, all cast in the same eerie, s…
Metafisiche del Suono
CD version. For fans of the Italian avant-garde, few names inspire the loyalty and devotion offered to the percussionist and composer Lino Capra Vaccina - a perfect emblem of the country’s extraordinary movement of musical Minimalism. He first gained note as a member of Aktuala, a project which laid the groundwork for a entire generation of practitioners following in their wake - creating a hybrid of rock, avant-garde, and ancient musics, while incorporating a diverse number of sonic traditions …
Arcaico Armonico
CD version. Like many of my generation, grew up in an age where the Internet did not exist and there were few sources of information, especially those inherent to the new music, I discovered Lino through his participation in one of the most daring musical pro- jects, the magnificents Aktuala, new band that released three great albums in the early ‘70s, full of innate grace, where Walter Maioli, Lino Vaccina and their cronies tended mystical and astral plots about warps of music and sounds extrac…
Scoprire le Orme
Limited clear vinyl, edition of 100. Mysterious, charming, and wavering, Scoprire Le Orme (Discover The Footsteps) represents a unique musical experience; a kind of Minimal Folk with far Eastern baroque influences. The work is a living entity, yet with a calm atmosphere interweaved with tension - the tradition here being redefined and transfigured in a very personal way with a touch of esotericism. Roberto Mazza (formerly a member of Telaio Magnetico, along with Franco Battiato, Lino “Capra” Vac…
Echi Armonici da Antico Adagio
**few copies back in stock** For fans of the Italian avant-garde, few names inspire the loyalty and devotion offered to the percussionist and composer Lino Capra Vaccina - a perfect emblem of the country’s extraordinary movement of musical Minimalism. He first gained note as a member of Aktuala, a project which laid the groundwork for a entire generation of practitioners following in their wake - creating a hybrid of rock, avant-garde, and ancient musics, while incorporating a diverse numb…
Antico Adagio
*Before an aberrant idea of progress and workaholic ethic ludicrously sped up our daily lives, even in the hectic city of Milan it was possible to “play slowly” – with no pressure, simply following the path your art was showing you. After a classic artistic journey and an experimental stint with Aktuala and other brilliant fellow musicians (like Franco Battiato, above all), Lino Capra Vaccina, near the end of the 70s, recorded Antico Adagio. It was an amazing album, anticipating countless future…
Frammenti da Antico Adagio
Antico Adagio was originally intended to be a double album, but was eventually scaled back to a single disc, and this is the unreleased album from the 1978 session. Before an aberrant idea of progress and workaholic ethic ludicrously sped up our daily lives, even in the hectic city of Milan it was possible to “play slowly” – with no pressure, simply following the path your art was showing you. After a classic artistic journey and an experimental stint with Aktuala and other brilliant fel…
Live 1975
Telaio Magnetico is the supergroup formed by Franco Battiato. Their only recorded output consists of a session featuring Juri Camisasca, Lino "Capra" Vaccina, Mino Di Martino (founder of the "enigmatic" ALBERGO INTERGALATTICO SPAZIALE posted previously here), Terra Di Benedetto, Roberto Mazza and Franco Battiato. Their music consists of ethereal voices against floating abstract soundscapes, free spaced-out electronic sections and wonderfully twisted cosmic dreamlike improvisations. An abstract-p…
Clic
"Clic" is released in 1974 and it is truly of those art-popping creations Battiato ever managed to do - there are full analogies naming it a best ever album, there are voices that appreciate its corrosive attitude under quite exhaustive portraits, everything being or not of a heads-up, since "Clic" needs to affirm a great response from the person who listens to it. All the fractured comparisons can become unremarkable, even if most of the previous solid works has lead to this entire full interes…
Za
This is another one of Franco Battiato's amazing recordings from the 70's, and it features two extended pieces -- "ZA" and "Café Table Musik". "Za" is a long piece for solo piano, with lots of spare minimal moments, and haunting trancelike lines of chords that build very very slowly. It's a beautiful exercise in restraint, and the kind of haunting soundscape that Battiato is legendary for. "Café Table Musik" is a bit more complex, although it's still got minimal piano progressions as its core. T…
Vietato ai minori di 18 anni
* Gatefold cardboard cover with 12-page booklet (photos, lyrics and liner notes in Italian and English) * One of the best italian progressive rock/experimental album released in Italy "Vietato ai minori di 18 anni?" is Jumbo's third album from 1973, is their most ambitious work, containing strong lyrics and fragments of avantgarde-inspired music, with the help of Franco Battiato's great VCS3 oscillators and Lino Capra Vaccina's (of Aktuala fame) bells and chimes' sinister tolling. Long spacey an…
