Zlatko Kaučič

Zlatko Kaučič (born 1953 in Postojna) is a Slovenian drummer, percussionist and composer working in free jazz and improvised music. He left for Italy in the early 1970s and spent the next two decades abroad, mainly in Spain and the Netherlands, before settling back in Slovenia in the early 1990s. He is known for his solo percussion work, for his records with European improvisers and as curator of the Brda Contemporary Music Festival. Kaučič lived in Barcelona from 1976, teaching at the Taller de Músicos jazz school in 1981-83, and in Amsterdam from 1984.
