*2025 stock. 100 copies limited edition* High Desert free-improv trio, K/S/R (Ben Kujawski, Abigail Smith, and Justin Rhody), provide an ultra-full-length album of studio sessions, private jams, and live expanded cinema recordings. A fittingly intense culmination of time spent, efforts made, emotional response, and intuitive composition. This is a music that's hated by the punks and the conservatory alike - executed in warehouses, microcinemas, and former cookie factories across the United State…
*2025 stock. 100 copies limited edition* Free-improv quintet recorded live in accompaniment to the early films of Harry Smith at No Name Cinema (an event organized in partnership with the Harry Smith Archives in celebration of Smith's centennial). Also featuring a 14 minute long remix by Cody Yantis (à la Jeph Jerman & Harry Partch daydreaming in the industrial sector).
*2025 stock* Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement is the ambient techno project of Dominick Fernow. Focusing on slow paced bass studies and synthetic dub textures, surrounded by collaged and looped field recording environments, RSE shrouds sound over image to target the sector of brain where fear supersedes rationality -- the imagination. As RSE appears live for the first time, it has transformed into an entity with rotating contributors on stage and on recording. Ambient Black Magic moves away from…
2024 repress! Gary Wilson's monumental 1977 LP reissued with the original cover art (care of Owen Maercks's well-loved copy), delicately laid out by Scott Allison. Which makes it, perhaps, the last copy you'll ever need. You Think You Really Know Me (also the title of Michael Wolk's 2005 documentary about Wilson) was Wilson's second LP, but the first he recorded as a vocalist, hewing to his own bizarre vision -- a syncretic collision of romance, new wave cocktail jazz, heartbreak, disco porn-sou…
2025 stock ‘Adorable Ruin’ is the second release of Stokholm-based composer and electronician Siri Jennefelt under her Nev Lilit moniker, and her first one to be released on vinyl. Each composition of the release starts with a drone that seems to be of a similar design, but brings us into vastly differing worlds. Jennefelt’s blend of large, primal drums and meticulously crafted synthesis, that moves independent of each other, makes a fitting canvas for her extensive arsenal of haunting, dystopi…
From the depths of Gothenburg, The Family Men emerge. Since 2017, they have slowly carved out a sound entirely their own within the current music scene, standing out as one of the hardest groups in Sweden today. Making use of unconventional sampling, chainsaw-guitars and gritty industrial tones, they manage to blast their way into yet uncharted musical territory. Their debut album 'No Sound Forever' is an explosive, daring and vital record of a band ready to swallow you whole.
the first authorized release by permission of the Estate of Albert Ayler of the two concerts played at La Cave, Cleveland on April 16 & 17, 1966. Remastered for best possible sound of these under difficult technical circumstances recorded performances.
Temporary Super Offer! The music on this CD is an impressive document of such a search for meaning and artistic legitimacy. It doesn’t want to add something even louder to the supposedly spectacular. On the contrary: Here, it is about the subtle intimacy and emotionality of human relationships, about breathing as one. It is about being interested in each other beyond ever new superlatives. This is where the unobtrusive authenticity of this music comes from, what makes it special and thoughtful. …
2025 Stock. "Their first, 1973, release by Britain's most enigmatic and unclassifiable band. Formed in 1968 by two Cambridge students, Fred Frith and Tim Hodgkinson, Henry Cow's original influences included the likes of Soft Machine and Frank Zappa. However, in their undying quest to push the boundaries of conventional music, members soon took out their machetes and began hacking a new trail into an unmapped wilderness of sound. The band was thereby also staunchly anti-commercial, never compromi…
*170 copies limited edition* "The city where I live was created by digging holes : removing stones from the ground, then making buildings with them. The only hill on the island was quarried. Elsewhere, they just dug giant square pits. Over time, many of these holes became dumps of some kind; the Francon quarry became a snow dump. Half the snow plowed from the streets of Montreal after each storm is loaded onto trucks and dumped in the 70 metres deep hole. Every winter, snow piles up there. Some …
*180 copies limited edition* "Fish Point is part of a 68 acre city park called the Eastern Promenade, located in my neighbourhood in Portland, Maine. Fish Point has sweeping views of Casco Bay and is busy with shipping traffic, barges, commercial fishing, tugboats, ferries coming and going from the islands, sailboats and increasingly yachts, tourists paddling, and cruise ships. Fish Point is off a multi-use trail that runs along the Portland waterfront. The area near Fish Point used to be semi-…
*200 coipes limited edition* Among the many kind remarks and deeply personal stories that have been shared with zakè and 36 about their beloved series, Stasis Sounds For Long-Distance Space Travel, perhaps the most succinct and poignant is one from a fan, regarding the first installment: “I was terrified of space travel, until I heard this album.” In those few words, the complex themes and contrasts that the artists explore through their comforting hymns of cosmic scale are summed up beautifully…
"I'll Wait For You In The Car Park", the first full length collaboration between Argentinian cellist, improviser and composer Violeta García and Swiss musician and composer Hora Lunga, is a work of extremes. Drawing from the realities of life on two continents, and embodying moods ranging from stoic desire to violent bursts, the album enciphers so-called ordinary moments from everyday life into an alluring collection of musical scenes. Seemingly inconspicuous moments are condensed into a tale of…

A warning for the present and the future, from the past… The time is apartheid South Africa. The resonance is now.
You will hear, in order of appearance:
Soweto's Imilonji KaNtu Choral Society singing at the enthronement of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, St George's Cathedral, Cape Town;
Archbishop Tutu, Nobel Peace Prize winner;
An announcer on state-controlled radio;
Beyers Naudé, once a leading pro-apartheid Afrikaner cleric whose radical epiphany after the Sharpeville massacre of March 1960, when …
"It was my first time performing at Chitei. The venue has a dark, almost secret-hideout-like atmosphere, with a sense of decay that resonated deeply with my emotional state at the time. The speakers were quite large relative to the space, so the sound would circulate and create feedback that doesn’t happen in other venues. By moving the microphone through the space and changing its position, the pitch and harmonics of the feedback would shift. Very few venues offer this kind of experience.
To me…
Monasunne is the duo of composers Lara Agar and Louis d'Heudières. The album Fields Become Sky is the band’s debut. Starting from their shared experience of growing up in East Anglia in the UK, the duo dug into the history of the region, finding myths and poems written at a time when it was an independent kingdom. The Anglo-Saxon poetry - dealing with questions of death, mortality and spirituality - forms the textual backdrop of the record and is sung in its original Old English. The duo treat t…
Kaj Duncan David’s new album ‘Only Birds Know How to Call the Sun and They Do It Every Morning', made with the Danish contemporary ensemble Scenatet, is an extraordinary work of sui generis avant-garde electronic music, exploring the relationship between language and three interrelated themes; human development, altered states of consciousness and AI / machine learning. Employing voice (vocoder, talkbox), synth, EWI (electric wind instrument), MIDI guitar and MIDI percussion, ‘Only Birds Know Ho…
*200 copies limited edition* “Rarefied Airs” is the debut album by Glasspack, duo of Henry Birdsey and Ian McColm. Both Birdsey and McColm are part of an extended New Haven (CT) musician family (think of Stefan Christensen, Shirese, David Shapiro, Center, Figured, Tongue Depressor etc.). In Glasspack they fuse Birdsey’s bagpipes with McColm’s computerized sounds to hammer out rock solid modern fourth world music masterpiece.
“Rarefied Airs” offers two long pieces (both ticking at almost 19 minut…
*200 hand-numbered copies limited edition* Aiko Takahashi is a Nova Gorica-based musician, a spirit that has released albums on various labels. Just like the line that separates the two cities where Aiko lives, Gorizia and Nova Gorica, divided between two countries yet united as one, Aiko’s music exists on a boundary. A line that separates silence from peculiar, almost imperceptible sounds. Too quiet to be Ambient, too Ambient to be Sound Art. Two years ago, after a first complete release on IIK…
