In 1979/80 Peter Becker and Martyn Bates formed their own label called „Ambivalent Scale Recordings“ in order to release their own music as well as projects of friends like Kevin Harrison or Bron Area. In 2012 the University of Sheffield commissioned Mark Fell to collaborate with Dr. Jonathan Howse, a leading nanoscientist based in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. Their collaboration led to several works including a multichannel sound installation, a series of prints and the recordings presented on this record.The inserts contain graphics, an essay by Dr. Howse and a conversation between Mark Fell and British researcher Peter Worth.
