Daniele Lombardi's Grande Notturno A Gargonza (Great Nocturne at Gargonza) is an ambitious "poem of sounds, signs and colored lights" for three pianos and tape/computer music. Recorded live May 18th, 1982 at the medieval Castle of Gargonza in Tuscany, performed by Lombardi, Stefano Fiuzzi, and Riccardo Risaliti. The electronic component was realized in groundbreaking collaboration with Pietro Grossi at the CNUCE of Pisa, using the revolutionary TAU 2 TAUMUS system – an early computer music interface pioneering real-time electronic sound generation. This visionary work unites acoustic pianos with cutting-edge technology in an extended synaesthetic experience. Deluxe gatefold double LP with large booklet including the original performance program.
