With original innersleeve.

Pietro Grossi (1917-2002), cellist turned computer pioneer, founded an electronic studio in Florence in 1963 and later worked at the CNUCE institute in Pisa, where he made the computer play and transform existing scores. His interest was less in new sounds than in automatic processes and music anyone could reuse.

Side by side here are his own electronic pieces and computer elaborations of Erik Satie and Scott Joplin, the rags turned into clipped, slightly mechanical lines. All were realised in 1983 at the CNR institutes in Pisa and at IROE in Florence. Issued that year by Edipan in the Musicisti Contemporanei series, with notes by Daniele Lombardi.
