Tip! *250 copies limited edition* The "Films Made of Antimatter" series is a new experiment from the Fifteen Minutes of Anonymity label, based on the concept of soundtracks for films that have not yet been made. It's an idea that is already familiar to a great number of sonic artists, as many of us have deliberately set out to create a "cinema for the ear" which would, in effect, cause us to imagine film-like narratives within our mind's eyes.

This project aims to take things a step further: combining the audio recordings with a variety of different tools that could actually assist an adventurous filmmaker in making a film based on the soundtracks provided. Each artist who contributes will also provide some form of supplemental material or instructions: storyboard sketches, "concept art," film treatments, filming instructions, perhaps even full scripts or screenplays.

For our first release in this series we have "Jules 3000" by RLW: a striking, dense and tonally rich work in keeping with the artist's well-established benchmarks for quality and impact. The audio is meant to accompany a film that can be built from a special "scene matrix," which allows prospective filmmakers to create a theoretically unlimited number of permutations from the individual scenes - a film treatment is enclosed with the CD packaging providing some guidance, but leaving plenty to be imagined. "Jules 3000" beckons as a blackly humorous "science fiction" film, but also as a commentary upon the ephemeral nature of mass media - a world in which those condemned to take it seriously act mainly as the writers of eulogies rather than as the creators of the novelty they hope for.
