Debut of the Swedish quartet The Peärls Before Swïne Experience: short commissioned pieces of five or six minutes by Nordic and European composers, contemporary music presented in a concert form close to pop.
This is the first CD with ”The pearls before swine experience”. In Sweden the group was formerly known as “pearls before swine”.
The four members of the group commission works from eminent Nordic and European composers. In order to permit a concert form close to that of popular music and not sacrifice the artistic quality, all the pieces are short, 5-6 minutes.
The controversial name of the group mocks the common attitudes towards contemporary music at the same time as it underlines the unpretentious approach of the group towards this music.
