Big Tip! Sensory Mastication is a single sided LP that is based on a surrealist dinner party Anthony Janas created during an art residency in NYC, inspired by the surrealist dinner parties of the past.
Hosted at the Flux Factory Gallery on March 1, 2020, Sensory Mastication invited guests to sit down, and have every sense activated and agitated. Each course during the dinner was designed to spark a specific sense.

" Cut-up and collages are the techniques he uses most, and musique concrète is the main inspiration, although the name Nurse With Wound should also be mentioned. Maybe because of the bell-like sound, indicating a chance (I thought initially to suggest a new course, like in a restaurant, but that wasn't the case, or maybe it is? The titles are a bit confusing), just as Nurse With Wounds does on 'Spiral Insana'" (Vital Weekly)

Born in Evergreen Park, IL in 1984. Retired Magician. Boat Captain. Sound Artist with a focus on advanced modular synthesizer techniques and digitally processed field recordings. Member of multimedia group known as Urbe and seminal noise/performance group Panicsville. Contributing artist for the Midwest Society for Acoustic Ecology.  Anthony Janas has presented work throughout the United States, Mexico and Western Europe. Anthony Janas work has ranged from sound installations on sailboats to playful performances such as juggling cheeseburgers. Anthony Janas’s work attempts to merge the institutional and pastoral moments of human existence.
