Christina Kubisch
Christina Kubisch, born in Bremen in 1948, belongs to the first generation of sound artists. Trained as a composer and flautist, she developed magnetic induction as an artistic technique at the beginning of the 1980s, and since 1986 has added light to her work with sound. Her installations have been shown all over the world and she taught for many years at the Saar academy of fine arts. Her Electrical Walks, begun in 2003, are her best known works: visitors wear special headphones that make audible the electromagnetic fields of a city, its cash machines, tram lines, neon signs and security gates.
