**in process of restock** Ambienti Coassiali is among the more obscure acts within the 1980’s scene in Italy, having only issued a lone cassette in 1988 - Vol. 1 - Room 1-6, which was released in a tiny, almost unheard edition. We've been told that Ambienti Coassiali was conceived as an ambient side project of Capricorni Pneumatici, but little information exists about either band, beyond the pseudonyms Pazuzu and Soda Caustica - drawn from Aleister Crowley's Liber A'ASH Vel Capricorni Pneumatici Sub Figura CCCLXX. What we know for sure, was sparked by a lone clue, left on the original Ambienti Coassiali cassette, crediting Riccardo Sinigaglia, one of the great figures of the Italian avant-garde, as a collaborator. Recently indications have also emerged that the creative voice of Silvio Linardi, known for his work in Doubling Riders and Andreolina, may also lay within. Whatever and whoever it may be, the project represents one of the great lost efforts in 1980's Italian electronic music.
Vol. 1 - Room 1-6 is a brilliant and singular piece of work, comprised of six independent works - “rooms” of meditative, electronic ambience which sculpt a total world. Recorded using only a Yamaha DX7 synth and two track tape machine, it is proof of the power of minimalistic constraint. A pulsing realm of abstract rhythms and complex structure and resonance, Ambienti Coassiali’s towering achievement stands outside of time - unplaceable in any decade, while redefining long held beliefs about what ambient music might be.
Re-mastered and issued by Incidental Music on vinyl for the first time, Ambienti Coassiali’s Vol. 1 - Room 1-6 is available in two editions, both faithful reproducing the original cassette’s artwork - an LP or an LP + DVD bundle. A true product of love and revelation on every count. Stunningly beautiful and immersive, without sacrificing the creative challenges which make the Italian avant-garde so important. Absolutely essential and not to be missed.
