Azimuth
Azimuth is the first full-length collaboration from Tyresta (aka Chicago-based Nick Turner) and cellist Simon McCorry (Gloucestershire, UK), featuring a quintet of impressionistic arrangements that combine swells of harmonic guitar with delicately composed strings and accents of modular synth. The resulting formations convey both the acoustic resonance of chamber music, and the experimental wash and warmth of shoegaze, making for a unique creation that is equal parts meditative and narrative.

*2025 stock* Monument from Swedish composer Lisa Stenberg was composed during residency in Athens with additional recordings in Osnabrück, originally commissioned by the art festival documenta 14, as part of a collaboration between KSYME CMRC, documenta 14, Elektronmusikstudion and Fylkingen, to restore and reactivate KSYME-CMRC’s rare synthesizer EMS Synthi 100 that had not been in working condition for more than 20 years.

It is a work that explores the concept of the materiality of sound and the representation of space through it. The packaging consists of a handmade cardboard box with a foil print. It includes a tea light in a home-made holder and matches showing the credits.

*2025 stock* Both sides recorded live in single takes during October 2022. The packaging is a multi-layered collage based on coffee packaging, photographic paper, prints and adhesives. The prints are based on a self-justified stamp and are each a section of the overall image. The artwork was conceived and realized by Moritz Böckmann.
