Two excellent orchestral works composed in the 1960's released on Erato's "O.R.T.F" series in 1971.

condition (record/cover): NM / NM Gatefold sleeve. Gilbert Amy studied with Darius Milhaud and Olivier Messiaen, conducted premieres of Pierre Boulez and Karlheinz Stockhausen, directed the Domaine Musical and later the Orchestre National de France. Chant / Trajectoires Pour Violon Et Orchestre on Erato captures him as composer rather than interpreter, though Amy never fully separated these roles.

"Trajectoires" suggests paths through space, vectors rather than positions. The violin traces lines across orchestral terrain, sometimes leading, sometimes lost in the mass. Amy absorbed serialist technique without becoming its prisoner; his music breathes where stricter applications suffocate. This LP documents a composer finding freedom within constraint, personality within system.
